In 1973 Livermore, CA. was the home of a small gathering of carvers. Group
functions were held in "The Barn" at that time. In 1977 things had changed and
finances became a factor. The growing membership moved to Pleasanton, CA. We
were the fifth group to join the now thriving California Carvers Guild.
We gather every Tuesday from noon to 4:00 pm. For the camaraderie of carving and
sharing information as well as tips, patterns and much more. Everyone is welcome
to visit this drop-in group, whether a current woodcarver, pyrographer, wanna be
woodcarver or just plain curious, we believe woodcarving to be a fun, rewarding
hobby and look forward to sharing it with you.
Our business meetings are held on the second Saturday of each month, with the
exception of our annual show which will be held on the third Saturday in September.
Many times before the business meeting we share in mini workshops, watch a video
or listen to a speaker which all provides the opportunity to learn exciting new things.
Our club also offers woodcarving classes, both for newcomers and as refresher
course's for the experienced.
We believe in, and promote, "Teaching, sharing and promoting the art of
woodcarving" so please come visit us at the shop and especially at our annual show
where you will witness some truly awesome pieces of art.
